As Oil Hits Marshes, Exasperation With BP and the Federal Government Grows

As thick oil flows into the sensitive marshes of the Louisiana coast, Gov. Bobby Jindal called on the White House and BP today to either stop the oil spill or get out of his way.

Gov. Bobby Jindal warns BP and the White House to help or get out of his way.

Jindal is still waiting for the federal government to provide millions of feet in boom and to approve an emergency permit for a state plan to dredge and build new barrier islands to keep the oil from reaching the marshes and wetlands.

Jindal is so desperate for the islands, he’s said he’ll build them even if it sends him to jail.

“We’ve been frustrated with the disjointed effort to date that has too often meant too little, too late for the oil hitting our coast,” Jindal said.

Bush was two days, getting involved with Katrina. He was condemed endlessly for taking so long. How long will Obama take?  Just My Opinion

  1. Jindal is playing to the peanut gallery. Your link says there is not enough boom in the WORLD to handle this mess. Jindal says he wants to build islands to protect his state’s marshes and wetlands -where birds and alligators hang out.

‘Save the birds’ is not a reason to move swiftly on anything in my opinion.

I think Jindal is playing to the crowds.

  2. It’s not about saving the birds. Birds will return with the next batch eggs hatched. It’s not about saving the beaches. They too can be cleaned. the marshlands are however another story. Once their destroyed. their gone. Those that are there, were not made over night.

I feel that if you don’t have a solution to the problem. Why are you hindering mine over a permit. That’s what this government is doing.

Besides what’s it going to hurt? I can see what doing nothing is doing. You see Jindal as playing to the crowds. I see him as trying to protect his state, which he was elected to do.

    • Seems to me he is waiting for somebody else to do something and is just crying in his beer.

I think Jindal is competent, I just think he knows he cannot do a darn thing so he make sure that he focuses the attention someplace else.
